English Lit. Major and Journalism Minor, Donna first wrote for the Enterprise Newspaper in Westchester County. She has always been fascinated by the written word. Donna owns Donna Schmidt Communications, assisting small businesses with strategizing creative, on-target, professional marketing.  She writes feature stories, content and short film scripts for these or private clients, and pens features for many local publications. Donna worked at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan as a Tour & Travel Manager, at ad agencies as an Account Manager, and was Marketing Director of  a publishing company, Donnin Publishing.  Locally she has contributed to a Gannett Food Blog,“Small Bites”;  AOL’s Patch;  Rivertown Magazine and is currently the Editor of the Nyack Hamlet Hub. Donna was the PR Manager of the successful “Minute of Silence” 2012 Campaign for the Munich 11 getting everyone from President Obama to Olympic Gymnast Aly Raisman involved.  In 2012 she was Co-Chair of a local CSA–Cropsey Community Farm, and Co-Chaired the Cultural Arts Festival at the JCC of Rockland. She assists the Rockland Farm Alliance bring farming and organic produce back to the suburbs and is involved with many of the County's non-profits. She loves fresh food, awesome wine, all things grown--including her grown son and daughter. Her two mini-dachshunds are always at her feet.
